MIGS2K

Migs2K is the Windows version of Migs95: (always use the latest release)

The MIGS2K is software tool that auto-generates the MICROMOUSE program without the user writing any program code (assembly or C). The MIGS2K user interface consists of a flowchart of the MICROMOUSE program. The user clicks on the flow chart items and enters parameters for the maze solving algorithm and motion control.

From release 15 onwards, the user can select simple or full feature mode for the MICROMOUSE motion control. This is a significant feature allowing the user to select simple motion mode to emulate the popular MIGS95 or MIGS99 motion parameter setting while exploiting the more flexible solving algorithm settings of the MIGS2K.

How to install :

  • Download the latest release Migs2KInstall?.exe and run the file

  • It will extract all the relevant files into C:\Migs2K directory

  • To run the program, click on the Migs2K.exe found in this directory

  • You will also find a game called MousePlay.exe in the same directory

  • The maze files will be installed in the C:\Migs2K\Maze sub-directory

Warning :

  • You must install the program in C:\Migs2K directory. At this moment, the program will not work in other drive or directory.

  • MICROMOUSE without GAL chip will not be able to use this software. You can trade-in your CPU board for a new one. Call Alpha Innovations at (65) 6741 3812 or email sales@ai.com.sg for information.

  • As this is the trial version, do not be alarmed if you encounter bugs. Kindly email us the problems as soon as possible so we can fix it before the competition. Your suggestions are welcomed too.

  • The new software does not guarantee better performance.

Milestone:

  • 03 Nov 2K, Release 15. Problem of not being able to download after the program is successfully built is solved. Movement control can be in SIMPLE or FULL mode.

  • 23 Feb 2001, Release 16.  Invalid top speed after increment rectified; Simulation maze is restored accordingly after crash; Speed profile is restored after resetting in simulation;
Hand mouse icon with single click to activate dialog box.

  • 23 Feb 2001, Release 17. Parameters download (faster). Need to build only one program for both fastrun test and normal run . Program downloaded to the robot can perform normal run or fastrun test. New toolbar for quick access.
For C users only: Ctrl-Alt-P -> generate speed profile in C.

  • 14 Apr 2001, Release 18. Download error in Window 2000 solved. Graphically drawn fastrun test path implemented.

  • 17 Apr 2001, Release 19. Text based editing for fastrun test path re-introduced. Migs2K can now be installed in any directory. Modifiable touch and search penalty for simulation. Ghost view (of the robot) after viewing score sheet eliminated.

  • 01 Mar 2002, Release 20. Problem on parameter downloading from a file not located in the same directory as Migs2K.exe solved. Will not exit abruptly when comment box is full.

  • 20 Mar 2002, Release 21. Show backtrack path during simulation. Full program path shown on the summary page. Will not exit abruptly when comment on the summary page is full.

  • 21 Nov 2002, Release 22. Bugs in simulation fixed. Search penalty updated continuously during simulation.

  • 17 Feb 2003, Release 23. Fix the error in Forward steps for consecutive turns in which it should be taken from the turn it has just performed. Earlier version took the steps from the turn it was going to perform.
